MY FAVOURITE THINGS | APRIL 2018
This is more a 'get to know me' style post because I enjoy reading these and getting to know more about the other person on the 'other side of the screen'. Hope you enjoy!
1. My favourite colour is YELLOW! Ever since I was around ten years old I've loved yellow, it's such a happy and bright colour. I had my walls painted two different shades of yellow when I was younger which was very daring, I don't know how my Mum let me have it really, but it's better than having bright green ones or black walls I suppose.
2. My favourite food is a very tricky one to answer because I love most foods. But I do enjoy the Italian cuisine, mostly pasta, but all in all I do enjoy everything that's put in front of me. The one exception is pineapple (which you should never have on a pizza) and vinegar.
3. My favourite smell is freshly washed sheets, my Mum's Gucci perfume, chocolate and baked bread. I do really like fresh, floral and sweet smelling fragrances, but haven't really found my ideal fragrance yet that I would re-purchase. But the more domesticated smells I like is food lol.
4. I have a few favourite films; the first one is The Book Thief directed by Brian Percival. The book is one of my favourites and the film is amazing as well, if you like historical dramas set in World War II, you'd really enjoy it, even thought it may be aimed at a slightly younger audience in a sense of protagonist. The next is Brooklyn, which stars Saoirse Ronan, amazing film and amazing book. I really like Saoirse as an actress and she's a really amazing woman as well, I particularly enjoyed her in Ladybird as well. The last film that is my favourite is of course Dunkirk! If you know me in real life and on this blog I've raved about it as well, I talk about it all the time and I went to watch it four times in the cinema, which says it all really.
5. The genre of music that I probably particularly enjoy is Indie Rock or Singer-Songwriter. Even though I do enjoy pop genre, I consider my absolute favourite artists John Mayer, Ben Howard and Kings of Leon. I do also enjoy London Grammar and Hozier's music. Over the years my music taste has spiralled away from what my friends taste is and really enjoy music with a lot of guitar riffs and more musicality to it and feel (not saying that other music doesn't I just haven't come across it, and when it comes to music if you like the way it sounds, you like it! It's like Marmite you either love it or hate it!)
6. My favourite texture is a lovely new soft blanket or the feel when my dog has just been washed or brushed and his coat is SO soft.
7. My favourite time of day is probably the evening. Especially the summer evenings, when you can just chill and its still light outside, you can sit in bed or even outside (maybe when its not raining in the UK) and listen to the birds still chirping away. You can also see the lovely sunsets that the country can offer and it's peaceful.
8. My favourite day of the week is probably Friday or Sunday. I get the Friday feeling if I'm off work on the Saturday. But even though I work most Sunday's it's normally quite a relaxing day anyway, , that's how I feel anyway and more often than not Sunday's mean Roast Dinner, and I live for a good roast dinner.
9. There are a lot of celebrities that I admire and love, but my absolute favourite is probably Harry Styles. I just agree with a lot of what he says, and he's a massive role model for thousands of people. He has such an accepting and laid back character, also his mantra that's on a lot of his merch 'treat people with kindness' is exactly what I think represents Harry. Whatever I read about him being a ladies' man has always gone over my head because when you watch him in interviews and other celebrities talk about him you can tell that there's so much more to his characters and personality than being 'Harry' from One Direction and being a so-called womaniser.
10. My favourite drink is blackcurrant squash. I drink like ten glasses a day, because I go through them so quickly. Either that or water is what I mainly drink, I don't really drink hot drinks and if I do it's hot chocolate.
11. I don't know much about precious stones but I've found them most interesting on jewellery, i do really like moonstone and also opals. Opals are very different and interesting from the rest and I like the different assortment of colours that they come in.
12. I like all animals really. I mean who are we to pick and choose what animals we do and don't like. We destroy most of their habitats so why should we be subjective about the ones that we admire. But all in all I am scared of spiders and snakes.
13. My favourite flower is gypsophilia. I think they look so pretty on their own or with some roses with them. I like the look of wildflowers, something like orchids or and lavender as well, lovely and natural.
14. My favourite fruit is most probably grapes. I eat a lot of fruit and grapes are a lovely snack but can be added to breakfast as well. I've grown fond of bananas as well, I can't really go a day without having one.
15. Broccoli is without a doubt my favourite vegetable. YUM!
16. I enjoy doing HIIT workouts, but I've recently got in to yoga which I'm enjoy as well to build up muscle. I would like to get in to running as well.
17. My favourite boys name varies a lot, so I've got about four; Jack, Oscar, Arthur and Freddie/.
18. My favourite girls name is probably Isla, but actually spelt like the island 'Islay'. I think its so pretty and so original as well. I do like Welsh names as well such as Lowri and more unusual names.
19. Crisps as we call it in the UK, I love Salt and Vinegar. But I don't really eat a lot of crisps anymore, just don't really feel like something that I need to eat anymore.
20. My favourite meal of the day is breakfast. I love to have a granola bowl, or a porridge with fruit. I've recently got in to breakfast as being my main meal of the day, where it would fill me up for most of the day so I won't need a lot during the day. It fills you with energy and what you need to get through the day.
21. My favourite ice cream flavour is probably honeycomb, caramel, chocolate, cookies and cream, or coffee. I do like most flavours, and I LOVE icecream!
22. I prefer salted popcorn to sweet popcorn. In the UK we don't really go all out with popcorn in terms of having butter popcorn in the US. But the company 'Proper Corn' come out with loads of different flavours and healthier than microwave popcorn and 'Butterkist'.
23. My favourite season changes every year. But this year in the UK I feel like Winter has gone on for months and months, and nothing is changing. So now my favourite season is Spring.
24. My favourite two months are March and November. These two months cover the lead up to my two favourite seasonal holidays; Easter and Christmas. The build up to Christmas is my favourite, and also the same as Easter, mainly because most of it involves CHOCOLATE!
25. My favourite Disney princess has always been Belle from Beauty and the Beast. But I do also like Merida from Brave because I think it is such a positive role model for girls in society these days.
26. Blue is my favourite eye colour.
27. My favourite dessert is a good, massive Ice Cream Sundae, or a Eton Mess or Pavlova.
28. My favourite sweet/chocolate are Cadbury's Mini Eggs, Cadbury's Oreo chocolate and Cadbuy Twirl. As you can tell I love Cadbury's, anything Cadbury's.
29. Mario's in Tenerife is my favourite restaurant. I haven't really got a favourite restaurant in the UK but I do like The Riverside Inn which is in Shropshire/
30. Finally, my favourite language is French. I started learning it in school, and it's become a language I've grown to admire.
Hope you enjoyed my long trawl of favourite things!
