OCTOBER WRAP UP & NOVEMBER TBR
This month I have only read three books; but the first one has become one of my favourite novels ever. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr I read the e-book and surprisingly got through it, as I don't normally get in to reading books without having a physical copy. As it is a historical fiction set in World War II I loved it, and the short chapter I find gets you through the book faster. I enjoyed the multiple character narrative and how their stories entwine. I have written a book review previously, so if you want more praise from me about the novel, head over to that post.
The next novel was a DNF; it was The Patriots by James Barlow. Again, this novel has some historical fiction added to the plot, but it's also a crime/thriller. The writing was good, I just wasn't excited about the plot enough to carry on. This brings me round to the books that I'm currently reading; I am listening and reading Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone and also Homo Deus by Yuval Noah Harari. Homo Deus is non-fiction which I enjoy if it's sociological, and the first novel is a real eye opener.
Other novels on my to be read are; Northern Lights by Philip Pullman. The Dark Material trilogy has an amazing reputation and since the release of Book of Dust I wanted to start reading the series. I also have Ross Poldark by Winston Graham, as I saw it in a bookstore for £1.99 and have always wanted to read them. The last novel is Emma by Jane Austen. I have never read an Austen novel, Emma isn't the most reknown Jane Austen novel but it was again £1.99 so thought I'd start enjoying more classics.
Happy reading,
Rose
